In London we aim to establish representatives based on churches with a strong music tradition. To express an interest or for more information without committing yourself, please contact one of our two Diocesan Representative Coordinators: Michael Wiles (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Terry Duffy (email@example.com).
Diocesan Representatives (DRs) represent the FCM in their diocese and actively support and encourage the music in their cathedral and in churches where choirs regularly sing cathedral-style repertoire. They meet and support the cathedral’s Director of Music, arrange gatherings with and for the local members, encourage their love of cathedral music, and assist in gaining new supporters for the FCM.
The role of Diocesan Representative is vitally important to the work of the Friends of Cathedral Music. It is through the DR that we have regular contact with our members across the UK and abroad, and the DR is best placed to organise gatherings which will be of interest to local people.
A DR does not work on his/her own but is actively supported by the Diocesan Representative Coordinators who are available to help DRs at all times. The DR is also supplied with FCM resources and all expenses incurred are reimbursed.
