Cambridge Academy of Organ Studies Competition 9 and 10 March 2018
Members attending the Cambridge National Gathering might also be interested to attend the first CAOS COMPETITION FOR STUDENT ORGANISTS, which takes place at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, from 10am to 4pm on Friday 9 March.
Nine students from Cambridge University, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music and Royal Birmingham Conservatory will compete for a prize of £500 and a lunchtime recital at St John’s Smith Square.
MASTERCLASSES with the jury take place on Saturday March 10 from 10.30am – 2.30pm.
Six students will take part in classes with the distinguished adjudicators.
The Competition and Masterclasses will be held on both organs of Sidney Sussex College:
Single-manual organ in North German style by Taylor & Boody.
Two-manual organ by Flentrop.

David Titterington, Artistic Director of the St Albans International Organ Festival, Curator of the organ and organ programming at St John’s Smith Square and Head of Organ Studies at the Royal Academy of Music.
Bine Bryndorf, prizewinning recitalist and recording artist, President of the Jury for the Odense International Organ Competition, Castle Organist at the Compenius organ of Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark, Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music.
These events are open to the public : £10 to attend the competition, £15 to attend the masterclass, paying either at the door or by cash/cheque payable to Cambridge Academy of Organ Studies and sent to at 140 Oxford Road, Cambridge CB4 3PL.
