FCM supports City of London Sinfonia Cathedrals Tour
In October 2019, City of London Sinfonia begins a tour of UK cathedrals, traversing the country from Truro to Liverpool in a programme entitled ‘The Fruit of Silence’.
The Fruit of Silence invites audiences to experience incredible music and stunning architecture in intimate and immersive concerts with City of London Sinfonia at nine cathedrals around the UK. At each cathedral, the orchestra will be joined by the cathedral choir.
As some of the UK’s best musicians and choristers perform in different spaces around the cathedrals, audiences are also invited to explore and create their own musical journeys, stopping and taking in incredible sights and sounds of our beautiful cathedrals.
The music is meditative, calm and enveloping—from orchestral music by present-day composers who explore the mystic through their music, such as Arvo Pärt and Dobrinka Tabakova, to ancient melodies for choirs that have resounded in our cathedrals across centuries.
Members of FCM qualify for a 20% discount on the price of tickets. Numbers of discounted tickets are limited, so early booking is advisable.
Tickets are available via City of London Sinfonia’s website: www.cls.co.uk or by telephone +44 (0)20 7621 2800 (Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm)
