Join James Lancelot in conversation

Tune in to Premier Christian Radio on Easter Monday 17 April as Premier’s northern correspondent Ian Britton meets up with Canon Dr James Lancelot, Master of the Choristers and Organist at Durham Cathedral.

James Lancelot has led the cathedral choir and musical life of Durham Cathedral for 32 years. He recently announced that his retirement would be in August 2017.

‘James Lancelot in Conversation’ will be broadcast on Premier Radio at 3 pm on 17 April, with James reflecting on his time at Durham Cathedral, the importance of music in worship, and what the future holds. Together, James Lancelot and Ian Britton will look back over James’s years of cathedral music ministry and share some of James’ favourite music.

In his role as Master of the Choristers and Organist, James Lancelot takes responsibility for the cathedral’s musical ministry, at the heart of which are the services sung daily by the cathedral choir.  Under his direction, the choir has maintained its reputation as one of Britain’s leading cathedral choirs.
