St Martin-in-the-Fields, London – Friday 24 June 2016 7.30 p.m.
A concert to mark the diamond jubilee of the Friends of Cathedral Music will be held at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London at 7.30 p.m. on Friday 24 June 2016. The concert will be given by Portsmouth Cathedral Choir, the choir of All Saints’ Church, Fulham and the Tiffin Boys’ Choir, all of which are corporate members of the FCM.
The programme will be as follows:
All: Parry: I was glad, Howells: Hymn to Saint Cecilia
Tiffin Boys’ Choir: Byrd: Agnus Dei a 4, Parry: There is an old belief, Stanford: Beati quorum via, Parsons: Ave Maria
All Saints, Fulham: Britten: God’s grandeur, Monteverdi: Beatus vir, Mendelssohn: For He shall give his angels charge over thee, Finzi: God is gone up
Portsmouth Cathedral: Britten: Jubilate in C, Stopford: Do not be afraid, Walton: The Twelve
The Tiffinians: Three short a cappella pieces
All: Fauré: Cantique de Jean Racine, Handel: Zadok the Priest
Dr Christopher Robinson (FCM President) will conduct the combined choirs for the first and last pieces of the concert.
